Dinos

Over the past few months I’ve realized something about Blogs, LiveJournals, Xangas, etc. run by people I know; No one does them anymore. To me this is a good thing. I will explain to you why…

While I have never considered SeanPiotrowski.net to fall into any of those above mentioned categories some could say technically it could. I have always felt that because I have been around for so long and broken from the norm, I stand in an undefinable group on my own. Anyway I digress, I think its a good thing that a lot of “known” blogs have dried up into 404 errors

Why? Easy, because like many things involving the Internet it was a Fad. But unlike other Fads there is actually some staying power that will keep it around. For example lets go through some Internet fads:

AOL for an ISP - If you asked 98% of the Universe who their first ISP was its a safe bet that they’ll say AOL. I will proudly tell you that my first ISP was CompuServe. GregColeman would tell you Prodigy. AOL gave people who shouldn’t even be aloud to own a computer the ability to use the Internet and many people who should not be able to use the Internet still do use AOL. Luckily AOL has become the bastard child of Time Warner with talks of them spinning it off of their media conglomerate to be its own entity so it can drown in its pool of sorrow and leave this earth finally.

Friendster - Friendster was a monster that I never really liked. There were things about it that sucked from day one and made me hate it and you know what 98% of those things still exist. Gladly when MySpace launched and I was informed of it I realized that it was like I had created it myself. Recently I read that Friendster went from having something like 5 Million active users to something around 300,000 active users. Talk about a Fad! People are avoiding it like the plague. File it in the Fad bin.

Degrassi: TNG Logo

There isn’t much I can think of that comes from Canada that I appreciate or feel validates the fact that Canada is an actual country. That was until Crystal introduced me to a little television show called Degrassi: The Next Generation. Let me tell you a little bit about this television show:

Degrassi: The Next Generation details the lives of many different characters as they go through their high school years. Since the first season the characters have grown in many different ways. The show has dealt with many issues familiar to teenagers, such as body image, drug abuse, drinking, rape, child abuse, abortion, homosexuality, cutting, death, domestic violence, cancer, eating disorders, school shooting, mental illness, gambling, penis size, nocturnal emissions, visible erections and oral sex.

As you can see this is by no means your normal run of the mill television show let alone Canadian television show. I’ve been hooked on this show for almost 6 months now. This weekend I purchased the First Season on DVD because I have never seen those episodes, nor do they ever air them. Crystal of course, being a Degrassi vetran since its original inception during the 80’s, had seen them. After watching all of the episode in the first season this weekend I came to learn that Degrassi: TNG hit the ground running when it debuted in 2001 and has not looked back since. I highly reccomend this show to all of you who enjoy comedy, drama, and a bit of absurdity. For Degrassi: TNG delivers all of those things and more all at the same time…

Expect more Degrassi: TNG talk from me in the future because its a great show and I want you all to watch it. It is on Nickelodeon’s THE N at various times during the day. Its impossible not to miss it. So keep your eyes open…

Beach Shot

After 5 years with the same low-tech, hacked, Blogger Powered website, and countless hours of frustration with my old site I have done what I have always wanted to do; Completely Re-do SeanPiotrowski.net! With lots of help with my co-worker ChrisB you now have the masterpiece that is before you. So big thanks to him. Also my amazing banner was created by none other then the always famous and talented GregColeman. I also thank him for that.

What you guys probably have not realized yet is that this site is now full of new technology that will make your SeanPiotrowski.net experience MORE interactive and MORE personalized. To give you a few examples of these new technologies: whenever I mention the name of someone from the SeanPiotrowski.net family their name will be bolded and will link to their personal homepage or MySpace profile, now all of you can put a face to the names and get to know a bit about the people you’ve read about for oh so long. Also thanks to a wonderful service called Gravatar when you sign up with them and you make a comment on my site you will have your own personal avatar to go along with your comment. I’m very proud of these innovations and I hope you enjoy them as well. There are loads of other things the new site can do and I look forward to using them to enhance your experience. If you have any suggestions or comments for the new site please do not hesitate to let me know. I also have created a page dedicated to my short films that I have produced over the years. So now you will be able to view them whenever you want at any time. Also please check out the links I have listed in the sidebar, I feel they’re important; many of them I visit on a daily basis and I feel they are worthy to be included in the new SeanPiotrowski.net

One thing I’ve realize doing this re-design was that it has reinvigorated my drive for my website. I feel alive and ready to go back to the old ways of SeanPiotrowski.net. I hope you will continue to visit and join in on the experience that is SeanPiotrowski.net and I hope that my audience will grow even larger over the course of our new journey together. So again I thank you my SeanPiotrowski.net Super Fans for your continued support and I look forward to the future.

Godspeed,
SeanPiotrowski

Do everything in your power to see this film. It tickled me pink…

So yea I haven’t been posting. There is a real good reason for that…I’m in the process of redesigning the site. Its going to take a while but expect a big re-launch very soon. I’m ready to blow the doors off this…

Till next time…”Who made who who made you…”
